Evaluation

 

When looking back at the work I have done for this project I think I can be proud of what I have done. I chose to create a small publication about frozen conflicts detailing two stories, one about the Armenian and Azerbaijani conflict and the other about North Korea. I think as individual pieces of work my double pages are effective separately however I think that I could have thought much more about how they worked in tangent to each other. Looking at my publication as a whole I think it doesn't exactly work or seem like a real magazine. 

I think this can be attributed to my changes in colour pallet and not having a running theme or recognizable feature that ran throughout. I was quite fixed on trying to create a varied magazine that had lots different to it so that it would not feel boring that I neglected what needed to be done.    

I really enjoy my spreads and think some of them have very dynamic images but some seem too flat which is something that I dont really want. As well as this some of my illustrations were a little too far from my topics and I dont know if they actually added anything to the articles.

Overall I think that I succeeded in making a coherent and visually interesting magazine however it needed to be more grounded withing the topics and ran with a more tight theme, whether that be through colour pallet, features, font etc.
