Workshop 1

In Today's Workshop we looked at a task Titled 'ANIMAL, VEGETABLE, MINERAL'.

In this workshop we looked at how the combination of reference and imagination can help inspire and create work. We looked at the importance of reference images and used reference and memory to create rough drawings.

In this case we used the description of  a Rhino to begin with to create a creature from the description. We then were revealed the actual creature that was being described and used reference images to draw from. After this all references were taken away from us and we were left to draw the animal from memory. It highlighted the importance of reference to me in illustration and how it should be used as a tool to create more skillfully drawn work.
